Hello & Welcome

I am Yue Li, a fifth-year Ph.d. candidate in the School of Communication at The Ohio State University.

My research program mainly addresses three questions: (1) how health-related (mis)information diffuses across individuals and news media on social media, (2) how news media and governents strategically communiate health-related policies, and (3) how exposure to health-related (mis)information and policies affects individuals' health-related perceptions and behaviors.

To answer these questions, I frequently apply theory-driven computational methods, including social network analysis, natural language processing, and machine learning, to “big data” that frequently include text data, social network data, and digital trace data on social media. I also use advanced inferential analyses, such as inferential network analyses, longitudinal panel analyses, and time series analyses, to explain communication processes.
